Hi! My name is Dixie and I'm a dog fostered in El Paso - Texas.
In 2014 I was dumped at PetSmart in a shopping cart with my brother. We were around 4-months-old and we were taken in by From The Heart. We were sick and were taken to the vet. We had Parvovirus so we were hospitalized and From The Heart made sure we received the treatment we needed so that we had a chance at survival.
We recovered well and went into foster care. My brother was a very outgoing and friendly puppy and he found his forever family right away. I am more reserved and every family looked right over me because everyone wanted a bouncy puppy.
My foster mom eventually adopted me and made me part of her family. I had a happy life there - but she recently had some life changes and could no longer keep me. She brought me back to From The Heart and I'm in a new home under foster care.
I'm a nice girl and I've been let down a lot in my short life. I just really want a family of my own that will love me forever and never leave me!
I get along great with other dogs - cats - and kids. I'm still reserved - but once I know I can trust you and you're my family - I will love you to the moon and back!
