Elsa was found running through the neighborhood in the middle of the night alone. A good Samaritan was able to catch her and get her out of the street. With no owner contact information and no lost dog postings, Elsa came to From the Heart.
We discovered that she wasn't quite a year old and based on the condition of her coat that she probably spent a lot of time outside. She more than likely got bored with no one to play with and decided to go on a grand adventure hoping to find friends. While Husky's are known escape artists, since she has been in rescue, she has not made any attempt for more unauthorized adventures.
Because we are short on foster homes, we have moved Elsa into a daycare and boarding facility. She LOVES it there. She gets to run and chase and play in the pool. She has made 2 new doggy friends and all the staff think she's wonderful. Elsa would do best in a home with at least 1 other dog her size to play with.
Elsa has done well with dogs of all sizes but because she is a puppy, she does need supervision if playing with smaller dogs. She gets a little too excited and forgets that she can knock the little dogs down. Also, small children may get knocked over in her excitement. So, unless your tiny human has a protective bubble, Elsa may not work for your home. She knows how to use the doggie door and will sit patiently for her food, but once you drop the bowl, look out! And she LOVES to snuggle.
We also want to note that Elsa WILL shed daily and blow her coat at least twice a year. So, if you're looking for Elsa to join your family, realize that you will have furry tumbleweeds in your floor. Also, she will need regular grooming so please make sure that you are prepared for that.
Elsa is looking for her next supervised adventure with her new family. She has been fixed, vaccinated, and will be microchipped before adoption.
