Georgie

Hi! My Name Is Georgie

Georgie was picked up hanging out on the street all alone. He is microchipped but the name registered on the chip said they gave him away when he was a puppy. With no other contact information, he was surrendered to the shelter.

Georgie is blind and has been for a while. He didn't seem to have any noticeable health problems but his were very red and inflamed. We immediately got him into the eye specialist. She said his eyes had been that way for a long time and was very painful. He is on 3 different eye medications for the rest of his life because no one noticed when the irritation started and got him treatment. *Remember eyes are always an emergency. They can't be replaced.

Georgie initially had severe separation anxiety. We weren't sure at first if he would accept all the changes that had happened to him. But after a few days he seemed to settle into the new routine. He knows where the doggie door is and how to go out and in. He has found his favorite place to nap and has settled in nicely.
