Kuna

Hi! My Name Is Kuna

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

Kuna was picked up as a stray and when the shelter scanned her, they found a microchip. But no one answered at any of the contact information. (PLEASE, PLEASE keep your contact information updated on your pets! The microchip does no good if you can't be contacted.) According to the information attached to the chip, she was a week from turning 17!

Now a loud shelter environment is no place for any pet but certainly not a super senior. Thankfully one of our amazing fosters stepped up to get her out of the shelter.

Of course, first order of business was to get her groomed. Thank you to the amazing staff at Spa for Paws for always giving our pups wonderful care and service.

Next up, vet visit! While her mouth was pretty rotten and she has cataracts, Kuna was healthy overall. Once it was confirmed she could handle anesthesia, we got her scheduled for the first available dental cleaning. (One more soapbox. When your pets get old, please continue their health care. Old age is not a disease. So many times, we hear a pet is "too old" to have a dental or procedure. And while that may SOMETIMES be true, most pets with proper blood work can be cleared for anesthesia and procedures. If you have a vet that is not confident in doing procedures on elderly pets, please find one that is. It is so important to their longevity just like it is ours.)

Unfortunately, she seems to not be housebroken but some doggie diapers and she is good to go. Kuna has surprised her foster family with how active she is. While she does have cataracts, she still has enough vision get around the house and yard. She loves to be loved on and snuggled.
