Lexy

Hi! My Name Is Lexy

Lexy was seen on security footage being abandon in a vacant lot with her water bowl. Thankfully, someone was saw this happening and was able to catch Lexy before she got lost in the desert. They called Animal Services because Lexy seemed ill.

When her owners were tracked down, they said their health was declining and they could no longer take of her because she is blind and has seizures.

The shelter reached out to FTH and we had a great foster home make a little space for her. She only weighs 17 pounds. Doesn't take up much room at all.

The vet thinks her constant tremors possibly come from being a Distemper survivor. And her seizures could also possibly be a side effect of distemper. Lexy does have some vision loss in both eyes. But she is able to find her way around the house and yard.

We have been able to control Lexy's seizures with daily medication and she is living the good life in her foster home. Her vision has gotten worse over time and as long as Mom doesn't move the furniture around, Lexy is able to make her way around. And she hears the treat bag open just fine.
